PowerPoint 2008 missing features

Is it me or is it PowerPoint 2008? Features that are prominent in PPT 2007 for Windows can't be found in this Mac version - specifically, path animation, and timeline view. What gives? For this money I was expecting something more than Intel binaries and interface futzing. - something like feature parity with the Windows version.
