When I create an organisation chart inside PowerPoint 2008 and save the presentation in pptx format the charts are not visible when the presentation is opened in PowerPoint 2007 on a PC. When I save in ppt format PowerPoint 2007 can see the charts. Is this a known issue or is there something I am setting up correctly? Brendan

Hi Brendan,
Thanks for the report. There is nothing wrong with your setup or the way
you are doing this. Unfortunately this is a known issue. We are working with
the Windows Office team to get this issue resolved, but I'm afraid to say
the only workaround is what you are already doing, saving in PPT format.

Jason:

I just upgraded to Office 2008 from v.X and can't locate the organization chart feature. Charts created in v.X display OK in 2008, but I get error messages when trying to edit them. Is the org chart no longer available? I'm running v. 12.0.1 with Auto-update 2.1.1.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

The OrgChart feature is still available for Office 2008. It can be accessed
by creating a new presentation in PowerPoint, then go to the Insert menu,
then select "Object...". In the dialog that comes up, Microsoft Organization
Chart is available as an object type.

If this doesn't work for you, I'll need some additional info from you, such
as how you installed office (did you turn off installation of any
features?), where you have it installed (standard Applications folder, or
somewhere else?), and if you see the Organization Chart application under
the /Office 2008/Office/ folder. Also what hardware you are running on may
help to narrow the test configurations down.
