Powerpoint 97 font-change problem

In powerpoint 97 when you highlight the text in a text box
and try to change the font or the size of the font, the
application hangs and then you get an application error
suggesting you need to restart the app. Restarting doesn't
help the problem. Any ideas as to what I can do to fix
this problem?

Sounds like you don't have a printer driver installed (locally, not on the
network ideally) and set as default.
That can cause exactly the problem you've described, Carol.
