Powerpoint and wma audio

Bill

Hi,

The other day I did a presentation for a sports banquet. Over 380
powerpoint slides accompanied by music. The music from a cd was
started on the first slide. There were a few timing problems getting
the music and slides to synchronize, but all in all the pitch was
unbelievable.

In order to improve the timing, I tried to get Powerpoint to use wma
files for the music instead of using the CD. I could never get this
to work. I have visited Sonia's web site and everything seems to be
in order. I can play the wma files using the media player but when I
go to insert them, I get a message that says it was unable to insert
the music file???

I can only assume that this has something to do with copywrite
infringement, but it seems absurd to me that I can't use music off of
CDs that I own to create a Powerpoint presentation for a few hundred
people to enjoy. Is there something else I could be missing? Is
there anyway to embed this music in the future or is embedding music a
thing of the past?

I am using Windows and Powerpoint 2000.

Help!

Thanks,
Bill

Sonia,

I have version 9....I probably made a mistake updating this software
before I began this project!

Thanks,

That's probably the source of your problem. You can "rip" the tracks from
the CD to MP3's using other software and you should have no problem. You
can google and search for CD rippers and you'll find tons of them.
