PowerPoint and Word shut down with graphics

On my brand new MacBok Pro, I use PowerPoint to create large (4'x3')
posters which include a number of graphics and Excel charts. I've
found that I have to save every minute or so because any time I nudge
or drag one of these objects, the program shuts down.

Why is this happening and how do I stop it?

See my reply to your post in the Word group.

Please do not post the same issue to multiple groups. It not only makees it
more difficult for you to collect your responses but it wastes the time of
the volunteers who answer your question in one group when it's already been
answered elsewhere.

Cathilia,

I'd check to make sure that all 'updates' have been applied to
powerpoint/office on your MAC.

Also does this problem only happen with one particular file, or all of them?

cheers
