powerpoint automatically formatting shapes to 3d

Kevin

I am currently using an existing ppt presentation that has some kind of
embedded formatting that I can't seem to find. Whenever I insert a shape or
fill cells in a table, PowerPoint is automatically formatting the shape
and/or fill to 3D effect. I can't remove it with the 3-d effect buttons. I
have never run into this before while using this program. Does anyone know
how to get rid of the formatting?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,
1. Format the autoshape as desired.
2. Select and right-click on it.
3. Select 'Set autpshape defaults'.

No all further autoshapes will take on the formatting of this shape.

I've already tried that. As soon as I insert the shape, it takes on a 3-D
formatting, and there is no option in the formatting toolbar or options box
to allow me to remove the 3-D. I can't figure out how to remove the 3-D
effect from the shape and/or fill itself...

Kevin,
On the Drawing toolbar this is button for 3D-Style; click on it and select
'No 3-D'.

OK. That worked for the shapes, but not for when I am filling in a table
cell. The option for "no 3-D" is greyed out.

Try changing one of the shapes in your presentation, then setting that as a
default. When you add a table after that, is it better? If you are trying
this with an existing table, can you select the whole table and turn off the
3-d effect?
