PowerPoint crashed when opening

After working perfectly fine for the last year, my Powerpoint now "unexpectedly quits" every time I try to open it. Word and Excel continue to work just fine. I am really baffled by this. I removed office and then reinstalled it. This did not correct the problem. Any ideas out there?

I have exactly the same symptoms starting after the 10.5.6 upgrade. Mine is an older version of Powerpoint that used to work just fine.

Here is a suggestion that I have posted before. It worked for me:
"I had a similar problem with Word 2008. When I read the error log,
it
kept listing "Japanese Proofing Tools". I deleted that file and the
problem was cured. Perhaps it will work with PPT. "
