This happened on my previous machine too... could never get that function to
work again.
Hmmm

Man, I just don't know, then. Detect and Repair would have been my next
suggestion.
Other than that, I guess there's a possiblilty that an add-in is conflicting
or something. You could close PPT, search for all *.PPA files on your system
and rename them to *.PPO. Then restart PPT and try the photo album again.
The only other thing I know to do is call MS Product Support.
Or here's some info on other batch import options. (Not that I think it's
right that you should have to rely on one of these just because Phot oAlbum
isn't working right.)

tried to download jpg files, 1, 2, 3, or many. still crashes.
tried small files 500 KB to large fiels 1.5 MB.
It's a generic MS "Sorry" message. Asks to send report to MS.
Tried repairing and reistalling Office 2003.
Tried downloading Office SP1, it says its already installed. (not sure I
believe this).
Thanks for your effort.

Nuts. Not a clue.
What kind of images are you trying to insert via the photo album? How
big
are they?
If you choose a different image type, does that work? How about if you
choose only, oh, 4 or 5 images to insert?
Do you get an error message when PPT crashes?

I have the same problem: PPT crashes using photo album. And I
installed
Office 2003 SP-1? Any other suggestions?

:
Have you installed Office 2003 SP-1? Go to Help/Check for Updates if
you
haven't.

Any suggestions on what can cause Powerpoint to crash and have to
restart
every time I try to insert pictures in Powerpoint using the "New
Photo
Album"
feature. I have a Dell Latitude D800 notebook computer. This
feature
has
worked fine in other versions of PowerPoint but will not work at
all
in
Office 2003 PowerPoint.
