I have now installed Office 2004 on two Macs, one an existing system
that had a prior version of Office v.X and one a completely new system,
freshly formatted with only Mac 10.3.4 installed. On both systems,
launching PowerPoint. selecting a new PowerPoint presention and then
attempting to change the slide design by choosing one of the included
slide design templates causes PowerPoint to immediately crash.
Seeing this happen on a newly formatted system indicates that this a
clearly a bug or some incompatiblity with the base 10.3.4 OS. It
cannot be a conflict with other programs since none are installed other
than what comes on the Panther install CD.
I've seen this problem posted in other threads but the only advice
given was generic trouble shooting which does not resolve the problem.
I've repaired permissions and resolved duplicate fonts. I'm not sure
what else I can do.
Can anyone shed any light on this or do I need to log a bug with
Microsoft directly?
