PowerPoint Crashes

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I am trying to male a new PowerPoint presentation using the most recent update to PowerPoint and 10.5.5, I keep having PowerPoint crash over and over. It seems to occur when I hit the return key when typing text into a new slide. I have restarted, repaired permissions, etc. Any ideas?

Man this new version of Office is buggy.

If the program is crashing when you press return it quite likely isn't an
issue with Office or PPt...

First confirm that by "most recent update" you mean 12.1.2 ‹ no offense, but
you'd be surprised how many times that statement is made only to be followed
later by "Oh, I didn't realize..."

Assuming you are at 12.1.2 I'd further suggest that you get the 10.5.4 COMBO
updater [AFAIK there is no 10.5.5 as yet] for OS X from the Apple site &
reapply it. While you're at the Apple Downloads site you might also check to
see if there are any Hardware or Firmware updates that pertain to your
system ‹ they don't always get tracked by Software Update and there has been
a *bunch* of them over the last year.
