PowerPoint crashes

Hi Mactopia community,

I am using a 2007 MacBook pro with the Intel Core 2 Duo. Sometimes, PowerPoint 2008 crashes systematically when I start it: opening an existing 2008 PPT file or trying to create a new one. Any one would know what to do?

Crashes on launch are typically caused by not having the most recent updates
applied and/or a need to repair disk permissions. Confirm that those points
have been addressed first (Office 12.1.7, OS X 10.5.6) & if you still have
the problem reply with details.
