Powerpoint create multi new presenation

I would like to know if it's normal when I create a new presentation, I have
a document named presentation1 and I don't even modify it.
When I create an other one with the new. I have a document named
presentation2. I notice that I lost my presentation1. It seems to be
replaced by presentation2.

I don't modify my presentation2 and I create another new presentation
(presentation3). This time my powerpoint have two presentations open(
presentation2 and presentation3).

When I do the same thing with Word, I have at the end three news document
(document1, document2, document3).

So I want to know is it normal for powerpoint to lost my first new
presentation (that has no modification) when I created a new one?

Well I'm working on an addin for all the Office Product ( Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, Publisher ...)

I was expecting that powerpoint reacts like Word when it was time to create
new document. As long that I don't close the application, it doesn't
dissapear if I create an other new presentation.

It will be nice that powerpoint has the same behavior as Word. It will be
more coherent between Office product.

They're different programs with often different behaviors. It's always
safest not to assume they'll be the same. ;-)

If nothing else, the PPT users would complain if MS made it work like Word
and the Word users would complain if they made Word work like PPT.

Ah, but wait. It gets better. Depending on your settings, when you close
the last open document in PowerPoint 2007, the whole APPLICATION closes.
