powerpoint creates a hyperlink problem when there isn't a hyperlin

Have used power point successfully on a Toshiba laptop for 2 yeas. It has
just started a new problem. When in slide show, on going to the second page
it reports 'can't create hyperlink to "." ' and the presentation can't
continue.
There are no hyperlinks in the powerpoint file. Have tried removing office
and reinstalling it but the problem persists. A powerpoint presentation
created on that laptop runs fine on other computers. A power-point from
another computer develops the same problem on the laptop. Clearly something
on the laptop conflicts with the power-point. Anyone seen this error message
before or have ideas please? Thanks.

Sounds like a missing / corrupt hlink.dll file on the laptop.

There was no hlink.dll in windows/system32 and when I copied a hlink.dll from
another laptop into that directory it all seems fine again. Many thanks.
