powerpoint custom animation grow/shrink custom size does not work

when using powerpoint from office xp pro (2002) .... and I click on custom
animation ... add effect ... emphasis ... grow shrink .. all the options work
(tiny, smaller, larger etc.) except the custom size option ... i can change
the percent number in custom size but it will never allow me to check the
custom box ... any ideas

First, click on custom, then type in a value.
After that, press the enter key on your keyboard to validate the change.
The custom size will be set, you won't see it checked though.

The tab key will work to exit the field as well.

I mention this because I have had several clients run into this little
glitch - They type the percentage, then just click off the box. The value
never changes that way. You have to use either the enter or tab keys to
leave the box, or the value doesn't seem to get saved.

I remember a long thread in another newsgroup where a user ran into this
issue when typing a size into the font box.

So yeah, it's not a totally uncommon issue. <g> It's just not terribly
intuitive to hit Tab or Enter after typing in text in those types of input
areas.
