<Banging head (mine, not yours) on wall.> Thanks, Mickey, for your help.
I did what you instructed in your second paragraph, for all
presentations (what I was wanting to change). No dice. If I open the
app and select File -> Open, that takes me to the Dialog Window wherein
I must work my way through the PP files to Presentations -> Designs ->
Blank. If I open it from there, viola!, there's my blank piece of paper
with Arial 24 set as the detault (what I'd chosen and saved for that.)
However, if I have the app open and select File -> New Presentation, I
get the New Slide window with Blank as a selection for a slide layout.
If I select *that* Blank, I get a blank doc with Times 24 set as the
default.
If I have the app open and select File -> Project Gallery, I am
presented with Category choices on the left that show me the Designs
folder. If I continue down that path and select Blank from those
choices, I DO get my blank doc with Arial 24 as the default font.
That's not what I wanted and I may not have expressed my desire properly
in my request: I want to be able to have PP open, do cmd+n for a new
document and have that Slide Layout window offer me a Blank that will
have Arial 24 as the default text font and size.
When I didn't get any replies here right away, I posted to another group
that I read and got this reply (in part):
"I'm guessing the "Project Gallery" is similar to the options that pop
up on the PC when you use the menu system to go File, New. Unlike
other Microsoft Products, Power Point's default template (the one you
get when you click on just the new document icon) is not customizable
by the user. It would be nice if they let you add your own "auto
layout" but they don't."
The rest of that reply took me through creating my own template that
went to live in the My Templates folder. That's one way to get what I
want, too, if I work through the File -> Projects Gallery windows but
still not what I was after.
It doesn't appear that I can do what I want. Another of life's
disappointments. Phooey.
Thanks again for your assistance.
