powerpoint, excel 2003 error messages

Hello, I am running office 2003. Everytime i close out
either Excel or Powerpoint, i get an error message
saying.
'we're sorry, microsoft __________ has encountered a
problem and needs to close.'

It's really an inconvenience. I don't lose any work though
