PowerPoint File Opening Error

I'm using Windows&Office XP with PowerPoint 2002. I
downloaded the latest updates for Windows and Office but
I'm still having trouble opening old (circa 2001) PPT
files. Error message: "Powerpoint can't open the file
represented by file name." Any thoughts?
