PowerPoint file size is too big

I have received a company PowerPoint presentation
(template with coloring scheme and font setting for the
company); the file size is greater than 4 Megabyte. To
reduce the file size, I removed all the contents and all
the bitmap from the presentation, the file size was
slightly reduced but still greater than 4MB.

When I took the text contents and put in another
PowerPoint presentation (general template from MS office
template gallery) the file size was about 80KB.

Looked at all options, can't figure out the reason for
big size.

Any pointer for resolution will be of great help.

It is likely that the first file was saved using Fast Saves or it was
saved in multiple version format which would increase the file size.
The second file you probably had Fast Saves off (an excellent thing to
do) and proably just saved it as a single version format.

After doing bit of investigation, I discovered that file
is looking for merging the changes with original author
entire history of changes?

In PPT 2002 or 2003, open the reviewing panel and accept or deny the
changes. If that doesn't work, you will need to go to mess with the file to
remove the embedded copy of the presentation. Instructions on how to do that
are on the PPT FAQ page on reducing file sizes. (You are looking for the
