Powerpoint File Sizes

We have recently upgraded to Office XP from Office 2000
and have found that Powerpoint now creates much larger
files than the previous version.

For example:--
45 Slide presentation, 2-3 photos all resampled
appropriately, 2-3 small vector images, Animated slide
transistions.

Office 2000 = 1.5Mb

Office XP = 4.3Mb

Any ideas on why this is happening or more importantly any
solutions?

The first thing I'd do is make sure Fast Saves is disabled.
