Powerpoint formatting?!

I have an Office 2004 Powerpoint presentation which has a mind of its
own. It's updated frequently and on certain slides, I make changes
(remove bullets, or center text, etc.) and save the file. However, when
I reopen the presentation those slides revert to the previous layout.
What gives?

Could it be some kind of 'auto' option in powerpoint

Have a look in

tools > autocorrect
tools > options > spelling and style > styles options> etc

Turn all the 'change my text auto' options OFF
