PowerPoint freezes when opening

Powerpoint W2003 is freezing when I try to open it. At first, I tried to
"repair" the installation, but this didn't help so I uninstalled and
re-installed Office. I have applied SP3. Nothing has helped. The other
Office apps work fine. PP just locks up with a white screen. Any
suggestions? TIA

Will ppt start in safe mode (hold down ctrl key while starting)?

Thanks for the link. I was unable to start PP in safe mode. I was able to
start PP after booting the machine in safe mode. Unfortunately, PP still
won't load when I boot in normal mode. It consistently hangs up and
generates a "send report to microsoft message". The message contains "hung
app". ???
