Powerpoint hanging while saving

B

Bruce Lynn

I frequently get a situation where Powerpoint hangs while saving a file. It
hangs so completely that I have to hard reboot the machine to free up the
process as even Task Manager won't let me kill the process. It appears to
only happen when saving to a virtual file set up with Intellimirror and
possibly may be affected by hibernating during work on the file. I mentioned
this to my colleagues and they said that it happened to them all the time,
but I haven't been able to find anything on the web or on microsoft.com about
the issue. Any insights from anyone would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

You using Windows Server 2003 in all that mix somewhere? Or a Tablet PC?

If so, try updating Service Packs. They fix a lot of Intellimirror
problems. Or it could be some problem in a Group Policy.

The server end of the Intellimirror is Windows Server 2003 and my machine is
a tablet. Al have the latest service packs. Not sure what to do to
investigate the possible issue in Group Policy that you are suggesting.

Thanks for the ideas though.

Bruce
