PowerPoint hyperlinks and action buttons

I have a hyperlink action button to another PPT file?. I am using a button on
the screen that the user can mouse over or click.

Is there any way for the hyperlink to be executed by hitting 'next' on a
slide and for that command to open the new PPT file? So the presenter can
just hit next the whole time. Here is you hit next without executing the
action button it will go to the next slide, skiping the hyperlinked
presentation that should come up. I am trying to avoid this.

We use Powerpoint 07 and 03.

Thanks,

How are you hitting "next"? Do you want to click a button on the slide with
a mouse, or do you just want to click a remote?

Hi SJMP,

The Next button is for the next slide. If you insert another *.pptx file as a hyperlink, we do need to click the hyperlink to open that file.

I recommend you to use the "Reuse slides" to insert the slides from that linked file into this file. Don't use the hyperlink. Following is the detail
steps.

1. Open the presentation that you want to insert other slides from anther file.
2. In the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs, click Slides, and then click where you want to add a slide.
3. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click New Slide, and then click Reuse Slides.
4. In the Reuse Slides pane, click Open a PowerPoint File.
5. In the Browse dialog box, locate and click the presentation file that contains the slide that you want, and then click Open.
" In the Reuse Slides pane, check "Keep source formatting". Right-click any slide, and then click Insert All Slides on the shortcut menu.

Thus, when you play the slides, you can just press Next to view all the slides.

Hope the above information is helpful for you. If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
