powerpoint images missing (only in 10.3 Panther)

+ made a powerpoint presentation using Office v.X on Jaguar (10.2.6)
+ drag/dropped an image from Illustrator into presentation
+ save presentation to CD
+ open on Panther (10.3.1)
+ images are blank (still have image-handles, positioned correctly, etc).
+ re-open file on another Jaguar machine, file opens correctly.

any thoughts?

updated as in reinstall? or like online security/patch updates?

and do you mean did i rebuild the permissions for the whole disk? thats
the only rebuilding of perms i know of. would this potentially make a
difference?

Yes, updated using following the recommendations and updates here:

And, yes using Disk Utility First Aid to repair permissions after doing the
above updates.

i did the updates and repaired permissions, to no avail.
i can publish the file somewhere if anyone would like to take a look at
this anomoly.

This could be hardware related. Are the two Jaguar machines identical? Does
it make a difference if you change the screen resolution setting to say
800x600?

changing the display does not help.

the machines used were:
+ mac g5 tower, panther. problem exists
+ mac g4 powerbook (15") panther. problem exists.

+ mac g4 tower (various identical towers), jaguar. problem does not
exist.
