PowerPoint Movie duration??

I am editing a Powerpoint presentation into FCP3. About the only way I
have been able to is to make it into a movie, then cut it into clips.

The problem is the duration is fixed and about 4 seconds per slide. Is
there a way to increase the duration of the slide in a Powerpoint movie?

Any help is appreciated.

When I need to make a movie (DVD) of a Powerpoint presentation, I usually
Save as... individual images (JPG) making each slide its own "clip." No
dividing and the images are numbered and batch loaded into the timeline (of
iMovie anyway.)
