Powerpoint not able to spell check correctly

Powerpoint 2000 (English edition, which contains Spanish
and French) running under Windows 98, complains about not
being able to open the Spanish (any version) spelling
file. English spelling check works fine. The weird thing
is that Word 2000 is able to do check spelling for Spanish
with no problems. I'm getting tired of uninstalling /
reinstalling Office 2000, looking at the Proof Registry
entries, and ensuring the files under
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof
are correct.

Any suggestion? If you need to email me directly, replace

They are installed automatically when you first use them.
I even blew away the directories where the proofing tools
get installed and reinstalled Office 2000 and same
behavior... Word -> No problem. Powerpoint -> Can't find
spelling file.
