powerpoint (office 2008) clipart won't search

I keep trying new ways to download & use the clipart, but Microsoft makes
this impossible! Even after I have jumped through all the download hoops and
get the clip art into the correct place, when I go there to search (in order
to insert) clip art, it NEVER finds anything. I can scroll through the
clipart (what a pain) and see the clipart, but I cannot search anything.

Any thoughts?
