Does anyone have a work-around for this?
I can no longer open any old PowerPoint files. I installed the
Office X 10.1.6 update and then the Apple Security Update 2004-09-30
by the software updater.
Neither files I made yesterday nor files that are years old now open!
The only file that will open is a test one that I made after the
update.
Before doing the updates, I started my computer from the OS X CD and
used the disk utility to repair the disk. I installed the two
updates, restarted the computer, and repaired permissions.
Using the "insert slides from file" feature on my new PowerPoint test
file will not work if an old PowerPoint file is identified.
I'm using a dual 1.25 Ghz G4 with 1 GB DDR SDRAM and Mac OS X 10.3.5.
I have no trouble opening my Excel or Word files.
