PowerPoint on NT Projector problems

Hello,

Hopefully there is an answer (or an excuse) which will satisfy a perplexed
client...

In a small breakout room at a conference, a presenter arrived with his
laptop to plug into our projector. Plugged in - watched the DOS boot on the
projector, but when it came to the user login prompt, the output to the
projector ceased.

Tried all sorts of power-up options and graphics card settings to no avail.
As far as the settings went the laptop should have been outputting 1024x768
@ 60Hz so it should not have been a problem.

The real surprise was when this happened again the next day with a different
speaker and PC (but again NT) - and this time, he went off to get his own
projector - which worked.

The projector supplied by me was a Sanyo XU35 and it worked faultlessly with
all other laptops over the two days.

Any thoughts welcomed.

Hi Andrew,

The projector may need a specific NT driver (to be
recognized as a monitor) or the laptop may need to have a
sequence of function keys hit to make the screen display
once NT starts (for example, my PC needs Fn-F8 to display
on the projector).

HTH,
Glenna

Glenna,

I'm with you on the Function F key routine - do it all the time.

I confess I've never heard about adding drivers to a projector though - do
you have any other info on this?

Regards,
