Powerpoint or Visio?

Hi,

I'm not really a vba beginner, but I'm not that familiar with vba in ppt
or visio. I have a project to animate a site plan showing location of
mobile equipment around the place. The location of the stuff is held in
a database, and when the location changes, I need to animate it moving
from one location to another on the plan, which will be shown 24/7 on a
pc screen.

It can be done in ppt, I think, by showing continously a slide, and
refreshing it and then triggering the movements. Would it be
better/easier to do in Visio?
Is visio vba the same as ppt vba? By that I mean is there an object
model and could it be animated? Which would you use?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

It's been a long while since I used Visio last; does it have a presentation
mode of some sort (drawing fills screen, all of the application's toolbars and
other furniture disappear)? If not, it seems that PPT might be a better
choice, since its slide show view provides exactly that.
