Powerpoint pen markup doesn't always work.

Ok, here is a bizarre problem that I am hoping someone else has had
and resolved.

I am running PPT 2003 on an XP machine(SP2). I used the ink markup
tool on a PPT presentation yesterday. Today I try... and it wont
work! I change to the pen tool, pick red (or any color) and write.
Nothing shows up. As soon as I right click to pick a new pen, all my
marks show up! I pick a new color and write... nothing. BUT when I
right click... BAM, all my scribbles appear.

The stranger part, the highlighter works just fine. Marks like a
champ.

What on Earth is going on?

Thanks in advance...

Try this (even though it might sound unlikely at first!)

With Powerpoint closed! Right click the desktop
properties>settings>advanced>troubleshoot (note ignore the first
"troubleshoot" you see)

Slide the Hardware acceleration slider to the left. OK out and open powerpoint

Work now?
