powerpoint photo album orientation

Hi - I'm trying to create a technical manual, which consists of 200+ screen
shots and comments. The photo album automates the process of inserting and
positioning these pictures, however after changing the page setup to slide
sized for letter paper, and the slide orientation to portrait, the sides of
the photos are trunicated and when printed they would be too distorted and
small to be legible. To remedy this I want to place the photos one on top
of the other on the page with the comments under each photo, but when I
attempt to apply changes to the slide layout powerpoint won't grab the
existing photos on the page as it would have, had I inserted them to the
slide individually. Any remedy to this situation that doesn't involve
inserting each photo individually is greatly appreciated.

I'm not really sure if I completely understood your question, but would the
fact that the pictures are actually filled AutoShapes make a difference?

PowerPoint's Photo Album for versions 2002 and 2003 does not insert each
picture as an image - rather it inserts them as AutoShapes with picture
fills. The old version for PowerPoint 2000 that worked as an add-in did
insert the pictures as images.

That does appear to be my problem, thanks for the information. You wouldn't
happen to know of a way to convert autoshape fills to normal pictures would
you?
