powerpoint plays slideshow way to fast

I have a powerpoint presentation which plays just fine on
half the machines I try it on, on others it plays the
whole show in a second or two (its 5 minutes long) and
ends very rapidly...
Any ideas?

Start by posting some of the differences between the machines, the version
of PowerPoint used to make the presentation, what you are using to view the
presentation on the two groups of machines (working and non-working),
operating systems, etc. There are timing differences/issues between
versions of PowerPoint and it may be something along that line. Also post
what type of content is in the presentation. Does it have video clips,
sounds? How does each slide advance? After a specified time, when the
clips are finished, etc.
