powerpoint presentation filling entire screen and then some

when ever a presentation is opened its too big for the

Is this when you're in edit mode, or when you're in show mode?

In my experience, PPT opens up to the correct size based on your screen
display. Right-click on the desktop, choose properties, then in the
Settings tab, you can change your screen display there.

It might be an issue of fiddling with the monitor settings, though. You
know, the buttons that let you stretch the image or shrink it...
