How do I save a .pps file without encryption? Whenever I try and open this file, it says that the presentation is protected by Digital Rights Management.

I think you left out some important information - such as that the file was
created by someone else, perhaps?

DRM is a security feature applied expressly for the purpose of *preventing*
anyone from opening/changing the file. IOW, you're intended to *view* it,
not *edit* it. For more on DRM you might have a look here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management

Double-Click the file in a Finder window rather than trying to open it with
PowerPoint. It should run as a full-screen slideshow. If it won't run as a
show you'll need to contact the source for a copy that's in an unprotected
Mac-friendly format or find a Windows PC to to try running it on.
