I have read many suggestions here, but I seem to have a multifaceted problem.
I am running PPT 2003 on Windows XP. I have a beautiful slide show that I've
created but can't share due to various problems.
First of all: When I use the "Pack and Go" feature to copy the presentation,
it will not let me save to CD. It gives me that error message about
"contacting an administrator" who is, well, me. Sad but true. It's running on
a home PC. So I have tried to copy to my hard drive using this feature. It
tells me I need to download the PPT viewer and gives a link for the download.
I click on that link which is not valid anymore, but I do a search for it and
find it. So, I download it and install it. But I am unable to check "include
PowerPoint Viewer" as it's grayed out. So this has failed for me.
So then when I try to copy directly from the PP program to a CD (including
my linked files, the DLLs, etc.), it appears to be working. It prompts me
that I have files waiting to be written to CD. I click on that, the CD burner
appears to be doing its thing and finishes, only to find nothing copied to
the CD at all!
I never thought I was this computer illiterate, but can someone tell me
exactly what I'm doing wrong? My sister used that PNG without any problems
using the same operating system and version of PPT.
As an aside, I did copy what I thought was the file to a flash drive. When I
went to see if the flash drive would play, the presentation did. Sort of. The
slides were all there but my music was missing and it was completely out of
sync - some slides played normally while others flashed three or four real
quickly. And most of the custom animation settings I had were gone, too.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
