PowerPoint projectors

I have some video's in mpeg format, which play on my
laptop. But when I send them to my PowerPoint projector
all I get is the surround to the picture but no video
image.

Any surgestions, I asume the projector isn't recognising
the mpeg file.

There is nothing wrong with the projector I can assure you.
