PowerPoint slide not entirely SavedAs a picture

I just began using the MS Office Home and Student 2007 application
"PowerPoint". I am the registered user.

To save slides as pictures (jpg, bmp, png, gif, tif, et cetera) I use the
SaveAs command.

Sometimes the picture shows the entire slide and sometimes the picture is
all black except for a small box in the upper left which displays the upper
left part of the slide. This happens for all the file extensions: instead of
the entire PPT slide, just the upper left 1 or 2 sq inches show. Frustrating!

I uninstalled and reinstalled Office and looked at the MS Knowledge Base.
What else can I do to identify and fix?
