Well, let's start with the basics - Did you set slide timings and the
"Automatically Advance" feature? If not, you need to either do so or click
the mouse button, press return or press Spacebar to advance from one slide to
the next when in Slide Show View.
If that's not the problem you'll need to specify:
What version of OS X,
What type of Mac,
What type of content is on the slides - particularly 1 & 2,
How the content was added,
as well as any other details you can offer.
