Powerpoint slides with notes

When converting the powerpoint presentation into a pdf with notes and slides, the slide becomes an image. Is there a way to make the slide an editablepiece and not an image? I want to be able to select the type, but can't because it is an image. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

what version of PowerPoint is used? What tool to convert into PDF?
