powerpoint to CD

Hello,

I am trying to save a power point presentation with hyperlinks to a
CD. The links will not open up on the CD. I have read that the power
point PC versions have a "Package to CD" feature. Does Power Point
for Mac 2004 have anything similar?

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "save a PowerPoint presentation with
hyperlinks to a CD."

Do the hyperlinks connect to items on a local hard drive, network drive, or
to the internet?

Will PowerPoint be presented on the computer on which you will be using the
CD? Are you planning to use a computer at all - perhaps a television?

Please post back with the scenario you wish to follow and I'm sure people
will try to come up with ideas and suggestions for you.

Thanks.

Hi Melissa -

Like Jim says, it makes quite a bit of difference whether you're trying to
output to a CD a PPT file containing hyperlinks ( as well as what they may
point to) or whether you need the the PPt file to link to something that is
on a CD. Your post isn't really clear on that.

PPt on the Mac doesn't have exactly the same facility as PC PPt from the
File menu. In the Save As dialog open the Format list & choose PowerPoint
Package... Just be aware that it _doesn't_ include the Viewer, whereas the
PC version does. Users need to have PPt on their systems or they need the
appropriate Viewer to view the file. Unfortunately the Mac Viewer is from
Office 98 so I would think it requires OS 9 or Classic in order to be
useful... Not certain on that as I never have need of the Viewer app.

Mac PPt also offers the ability to save as a QT Movie. You may want to look
it up in PPt Help.
