Powerpoint Video Display

Michelle

I have a PowerPoint presentation that has videos inserted into it. The
videos are played by clicking on an icon. I set them to play full screen.
They are .wmv files. I am using PowerPoint 2007. My problem is that on some
machines the video plays fine and on others it only plays on half the screen
and the video is distorted to fit half the screen size. All the machines are
using Window's Media Player 9 or better but you don't see the media player on
the screen just the video. I need to place these on CD's so I can hand them
out. But I can't guarentee they will play correctly on every machine. Is
this something that I have done or is it just a setting on the end users pc?

Michelle,

Lets start with, the Windows Media Player has almost nothing to do with it.
PowerPoint uses the MCI media player. Now with that said, what version of
WMV file is it? (There are several.)

My "gut feeling" is that its a version that may not be compatible with all
Windows PCs. There are a couple of options.

1. Read the tutorial about media and PowerPoint:
http://www.pfcmedia.com/Tutorial.htm

2. Use PFCPro to do all the compatibility checks, conversion and insertion
for you.
