PowerPoint Viewer 2003

I recently completed the software buildup after a destructive system restore.
My PowerPoint Viewer 2003 Application no longer produces audio, the only
application type not to. I have removed, re-downloaded and re-installed the
application without success. Can anyone please help? Prior to the system
restore I have never had a problem with PP Viewer 2003.

The Viewer doesn't actually produce sound, so I'm not sure what problem
you're seeing. Is it that the sound in a presentation won't play when you
open the presentation in the Viewer?

Do you have PowerPoint (full program)? Does the sound play in it, but not in
the Viewer?

My initial suspicion is that the sounds in your presentations were linked
and they got either completely deleted or moved to a different folder during
the "destructive system restore" so the links have been broken. But this
would cause the sounds not to play in PowerPoint (full program) as well as
the Viewer.

Many thanks - I started to suspect that my .pps files may have been corrupted
as they were copied from the hard drive onto removable media prior to the
system recovery and back again onto the hard drive afterwards. Perhaps the
files did not enjoy the ride! Your reply reinforces that suspicion. I will go
back to the files source (they came as e-mail attachments) and get them to
send them again. Once again - many thanks.

Good luck with it. Holler back if that doesn't do the trick. (Be sure to
copy over the sound files, too!)
