PowerPoint Viewer not opening hyperlinks

Hello All,
I created a powerpoint presentation with Powerpoint 2000. The presentation
has links to several word documents. The entire presentation and word
documents are than burned onto a CD-R. Whenever I run the program with the
Powerpoint viewer, none of the Word document hyperlinks will work. I
receive a message that states: "Cannot open the specified file"

I have tried to link using \ or a / and even no symbols before the file
name. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance.
