Powerpoint web page creation

H

Harvey

I have been successfully creating a web page from powerpoint on a mac
now for awhile until recently. The problem is that once I create the
web page and then set the link to the htm file I get the following
message "Open the default .htm file to view this Web
presentation."..this happens on a Mac running OS X.4.7 under office
powerpoint version 11.2.4.

What I have discovered through all of this is when I convert on the
Intel Paltform using version SP 1 and having the publish option under
Browser support set to I.E. 4.0 and higher with high fidelity support I
get a message about safari not being able to support the enhanced
features of I.E......

If I change the publishing options to All browsers above I do not get
the message and the web page loads in safari without the aforementioned
error"Open the default .htm file to view this Web
presentation".....This has just started happening recently....

I am thinking this is a problem that microsoft has now created with the
upgrades that have been made to the Mac Office 2004...so now I have to
create the web pages through powerpoint on an intel machine and then
copy them over to dreamweaver. Incredible !!!!!

I have tried to find out more about this problem but with little
headway. I can at least reproduce the issue but now I am at the mercy
of microsoft again.

does anyone have a solution or know exactly what the cause is for this
????

Is there an alternative to using powerpoint tat will work and play with
everyone else ? I am a biology lab tech and our labs have been
designed in powerpoint and then they are converted to web files and
displayed through a browser. I have a great brand new lab of 30 iMac
Dual core machines that are flawless except when I have to use
microsoft products. It is not a mac problem from what I can see.
