Powerpoint won't launch

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Trying to launch powerpoint in Snowleopard, and the spinning wheel just runs. Repeated efforts at this yield the same results.

Suggestions?
