Powerpoint won't play animated gif

I have created animated gif from image ready(adobe). I inserted as picture-
also tried inserting as movie. In slideshow view the first image of the gif
shows but the animation isn't working. It works in microsoft viewer, it works
when I open the gif file right from IE.
How can I make this work? I have done in the past successfully with other
gif animations.

Thanks. I just found an earlier post that mentioned setting the animation to
play only once will cause problems- that was the problem- It works now!!!! I
am sooo happy.

I will look at that site, thanks for responding so quickly!
