Powerpoint Won't Save

Using Microsoft Office 2001 on a Macintosh G3 running system 9.2.2

Open and work on a Powerpoint Presentation. When I choose Save or
Save As, no Save dialog box opens. It kind of flashes like it's going
somewhere, but no Save dialog box, and it just takes me back to my
slides. If I choose Quit, it asks me if I want to Save. If I click on Save -
no Save dialog box - just back to the slides.

I have read that Norton AutoProtect will do this, but we don't have
Norton on this machine.

Help is appreciated!!

Wow, the only thing I know about troubleshooting on a Mac is to delete
preferences.

You might want to post this in the Mac PPT group, though. Surely they'll
be able to come up with something better than that!
