PowerPoint X

Hi,
I'm a new to Macintosh, Entourage and PowerPoint. (Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.1)

Recently I received several .pps mail attachments but cannot hear the
soundtrack. Could anyone explain the procedure to solve this problem?

I also received the following information on one presentation which would
not play at all.
"Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated. PowerPoint does
not support Active X controls."
Since the presentation was sent from a PC user does this problem apply to
the Mac only?

There are several reasons why that might happen, most of them outside your
control. Have a look here and also have the person who created the PowerPoint
file take a peek at it too:

Mostly so, yes. The PC user has added "controls" to one or more slides.
Tell the PC user that the text boxes, listboxes, checkboxes and such that they
added using the Controls toolbox aren't supported on Mac.

Yes indeed, having been a PC user for 8 years it's like being a rookie
again!

Mmmmmm! Don't want to start another PC v Mac war! It might be easier
to install PowerPoint on my old PC and transfer the files.

At least I know that I haven't missed an obvious software instruction.

Good heavens, no! You could kill dozens just from the boredom. ,-)

It might be easier
to install PowerPoint on my old PC and transfer the files.

Or consider VPC and a copy of Windows on your Mac. It's a very slick way to
bridge the gap. Install PPT in that and you're off. Not to the races, 'cause
it's not going to leave any tiremarks on the pavement, but it's very sweet just
the same.

At least I know that I haven't missed an obvious software instruction.
