PowerPoint (XP) on Windows 2000 Machine

We upgraded to Office XP this summer in our high school
lab. Now when you try and view a slide show in
PowerPoint, it will not run. We have 25 Windows 98
machines in our lab and 2 Windows 2000 machines. Office
XP runs slide shows fine on the 98 machines but will not
run a slideshow on either of our Win 2000 machines. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciate!

"will not run" covers a lot of territory.

Can you narrow the field of search down a bit? What *does* happen when the
slide show doesn't run? If it involves sparks and flame, can I come watch?
;-)

Do you get any error messages? If so, give us the exact text (text - not a
screen shot, please!)
Do you see something about the slideshow in the task bar?

In addition, how are you trying to "run" the slide show? Double click a
..pps file, opening PowerPoint, open the presentation and hitting F5? I
suggest you try the last one. It may be that the file type association on
the Windows 2000 doesn't have .pps files associated with PowerPoint XP.
